… a word from the Editor Amanda

Another weekend on the white isle, another night out at Pikes Ibiza. And I’m still alive. Phew.

As the summer kicks off, the Boho Balearic look is filtering back to the UK, just in time for us to pack our suitcases for summer hols.

Regular readers will know that I am partial to a “hippy chic” hat. Here’s a designer who has managed to sum up the general mood of  hippy chic, with a boutique collection of hats destined to be seen from Glasto to Port Adriano to Playa D’en Bossa.

Lisa Negus – customised hat designer and founder of Hippychic Beach Boutique, decided just 6 weeks ago to make a business out of her love of festival hats, which fit the Balearic vibe perfectly.

Lisa, like many of us, visits Ibiza at least 3 times a year, so she’s in tune with Balearic boho. Here’s a look at her current collection, and the ‘star’ hat is on its way to my front door. Suffice to say, you can catch me in it all summer long.

As with many of the folk I interview for Zips It Up, I asked Lisa about her favourite places on the island. Lisa’a favourite hotels include the Hacienda Na Xamena and Las Brisas de Ibiza Boutique Hotel.

Lisa’s favourite restaurants include The Boat House Ibiza, and like so many of us, she is an avid Pikes fan, enjoying how Pikes as a hotel, club and restaurant has cornered the “slightly older yet still cool” Ibiza tourist market.

Lisa is hoping to spend more time in Ibiza and Mallorca to sell her hats and develop her business and I’m helping her along the way. The hats are, quite simply, fabulous.
