ClockStock Orange Festival 2018

For those of you who have made Ibiza very much a part of your life, plus have a good couple of decades’ worth of clubbing experience tucked under your belt, you’ll l know Clockwork Orange back to front, and upside down.

Having dominated club culture in London and Ibiza during the early-mid 90s, it’s common knowledge that founders Danny Gould and Andy Manston have revitalised the brand and returned to the scene bigger than before, with a line up of the original superstar DJs.

As we approach the Ibiza summer season, most people already have the Clockwork Orange 25thAnniversary– which they celebrate this year – and the Ibiza weekender in July, in caps in their diaries.

I spoke to Danny Gould to get his exclusive insight into what we can all expect from their ‘festival’ style weekend extravaganza this 20 – 23 July 2018.

Danny, what encouraged you and Andy to bring CO back to Ibiza?

Its a feeling, its all about making magic, the unity of all you create coming together and when that time resurfaced, I felt it, you feel it, its simply a sense. Call it a gift or listening to your ‘Gould given’ senses.

We brought it back on March 10th2012 and it was my 40th Birthday. Best birthday ever, seeing everything you love with all your heart, start all over again.

What are the plans for the Ibiza festival in the Benimussa Hills and are you back at Es Paradis and Mambo?

Firstly, there’s a boat party, which is sold out.

Benimussa is flying and nearly 50% sold.

Es Paradis is flying too, for the most beautiful after party ever, plus some hidden surprises along the way.

This is our first festival in Ibiza (which is the Benimussa party), and I’m so excited for this. Amazing costumes, performers, the best DJ line up and dancing all day amongst the pine trees… Ibiza baby – just as it should be. Then the coaches take everyone to Es Paradis. Thanks.

Mambo’s on the Monday is my release, this year’s gonna be hard work, its always hard but this year there’s double the amount of work. I love those 2 hours playing Balearic classics and hard to find gems. It’s the creation of something truly special with the sun setting in the background. Sunsets always evoke emotion, tears and happiness.

It doesn’t get any better, and all alongside little (Jason) Bysee, just before his vinyl after-sunset party.

This year’s going to be incredible. It always has been, always will be. Go bigger and better or go home… shhhhhhhh.x
