In the race to be the IT GIRL of summer 2025, there can be no denying Romeo Beckham’s girlfriend Mia Regan – model, influencer and hiking fanatic is a front runner. Known to her almost 600,000 followers as Mimi Moocher, it all began at 14, when she was scouted at the Birmingham Clothes Show, and soared thanks to her high-profile, five-year relationship with Romeo Beckham, the middle son of David and Victoria. They met while at school.
The British model has now teamed up with H&M for a 17-piece capsule collection that feels like a love letter to all things vintage, with a cool-girl twist. Inspired by her travels to the boho epicentre, Ibiza, muddy British Glastonbury, retro films, and sun-drenched European getaways with friends, the line blends ‘90s silhouettes with earthy palettes and unexpected details. You’ll find asymmetric hemlines, slinky slip dresses, and utility-inspired separates that are as wearable as they are fun.
Mia claims that she never drinks too much (“I’m actually very reserved; everyone teases me because I never lose it”), limits her screen time to an hour on Instagram and an hour on TikTok per day (“I try not to overdo it”) and hardly wears make-up (“just maroon mascara, I had bad hormonal acne last year, so I wash my face, moisturise, that’s it”). And it all seems to work.
Welcome to Amanda Zips it Up and your mid-week fashion fix.
As we head into August, the nights are (regrettably) slowly drawing in and the days are getting shorter. Images of sunny beer gardens, packed in midsummer at 10pm, are gradually disappearing like Marty’s parents in Back To The Future.
Do you find yourself eating later in the middle of summer, compared to the time you eat in the evenings during the winter? Well, the answer to this could be how old you are, where you live and how healthy your lifestyle is.
Whether you’re a Gen X or Gen Z, diners, especially those who live further out of town, are swapping late-night wine-fuelled culinary indulgence for early evening sobriety — and restaurants are taking note.
Across the country, restaurants are adapting their timetables to meet demand from customers who want to eat earlier. Fashionably late is out — in 2025, it’s the early diners who are filling the tables.
Data from OpenTable, the online restaurant reservation service, reveals a sharp rise in 6pm reservations, up 11 per cent in London and 6 per cent across the UK compared with the same period last year. Zonal, the hospitality tech service, pegs the new national average dining time at 6.12pm, with nearly half of all bookings falling between midday and 6pm. This summer, one London restaurant – Counter 71 in Shoreditch – has introduced a £50 early evening set menu aimed at the growing crowd of purposeful post-work diners. But it’s more than a menu tweak — it’s a response to a cultural shift.
Post-covid work patterns and wellness-focused professionals are driving this change in attitudes, along with the sober-curious and the cost-conscious.
People who work from home tend to start and finish earlier, which naturally leads to earlier dining. Factor in the lack of a commute, and people have far more flexibility to eat out earlier. There’s also now broader public awareness that late-night eating isn’t great for one’s health.
It’s not just about health though. Younger diners especially are making choices that bolster their financial health. Earlier dining helps avoid expensive late-night drinking.
And on the subject of Shoreditch, this area of London (EC2) has just celebrated 20 years since it began being regenerated from one of the grimmest neighbourhoods to one of the most vibrant. In other London news, a recent survey announced that the top 5 areas to live in London for wellness – and the fashion forward – are the following postcodes (although South Londoners might have something to say about this!):
5 – Wembley
4 – Twickenham (my childhood town)
3 – Shoreditch
2 – Stoke Newington
1 – Walthamstow.
Onto this week’s instalment, and we look at Dad fashion, Kim Kardashian’s double chin lift hack and how to dress stylishly for that flight.
There’s no escaping it… age catches up with us all – and it generally starts with the chin and boobs. But what should we do if we can’t afford (or don’t want) expensive creams, boob jobs or even face-lifts?
Kim Kardashian believes she has the answer. Her Skims brand has released, essentially, a piece of Velcro to wrap around your head for ‘targeted compression’. Whatever that means. Yes, Kardashian promises a lifted jaw and collagen-plumped skin, thanks to SKIMS’ first foray into the beauty world.
From the website:
“The Ultimate Face — our first-ever face innovation, made with signature sculpting fabric and infused with collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support, it’s a must-have face wrap for everyday wear, which offers “strong, targeted compression for shaping & sculpting.”
Beware the massive hype – as one should with anything the Kardashians do – but do exercise particular caution when it comes to purposefully controversial products.
Another KK product promises permanently erect nipples with the Skims padded bra with built in nipple shapes. This bra automatically lifts your breasts when worn through a T-Shirt with higher than high nipples. It also looks like you’ve had your nipples pierced.
But back to their double chin preventer… what’s the deal? What is collagen yarn? Is this face wrap the answer to youthful, snatched-looking skin?
Collogen yarn is a textile infused with collagen to moisturise and improve texture in the skin. But does this facial wrap penetrate the skin deep enough to really make a significant difference? Wearing a tight garment like this can temporarily reduce puffiness and swelling, and has an almost shaping effect because it reduces fluid in that area. But then, surely, things will just go back to how they were before? Generally, a product like this is safe to wear; however, continuous use might have consequences. Constant pressure on the face can affect lymphatic drainage and the skin barrier, causing irritation and so on.
While the concept of using straps or bandages to shape the face has existed in different cultures for centuries, the Kardashian name gives their product a huge head start.
Amazon’s cheaper version £25
With a rise in popularity for everything from weight loss injections to facial taping and buccal fat removal, it’s hard not to feel cautious about Kim’s latest product release. Yes, we all want to feel good about ourselves, take care of our skin and perpetuate its longevity, but in my view a Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap may not answer such age old problems
Move over MILFs… make way for the DILFs. I don’t need to explain what that stands for. Let’s go with “Dads In Latest Fashions”, to keep things respectable.
If you haven’t heard by now, the “older man” look is trending hard this year. Ever since Balenciaga sent real dads with their real kids down the catwalk, there has been a new and unexpected fashion tribe, the DILF.
The fashion items we’re talking here are synonymous with styles that are now a quarter of a century old: relaxed, stonewash denim, sensible jackets, dad caps and more. Which raises the question – how have fathers, once synonymous with lame fits and tired style, become fashionable?
Some commentators have suggested that the DILF look came about from cash-strapped millennials hankering after the stability embodied in the suburban dads of their childhood, with their mortgages, sensible cars and retirement savings. What was once boring has become aspirational.
The shapes and styles that the dad trend has resurrected come from the early nineties, AKA comfortable and practical. Dads dress for function, not form; starting with outdoorsy brands they favour, such as Patagonia and the North Face.
The DILF look is eye-catchingly eclectic. t’s created a great way of clashing different styles from different genres together and making them all work.
Key Pieces from The DILF Trend
Dad Cap
The origins of the dad trend can be traced back a couple of years to the sudden arrival of the kind of simple cotton-twill baseball caps that are sported on football touchlines everywhere.
Cheap and logo-friendly, they’ve long been a streetwear mainstay, but became an unlikely fashion must-have when Balenciaga created its own version.
Dad Jeans
Loose, pleated trousers are a viable legwear option for giving off dad vibes, but high-waisted, straight-legged dad jeans are the ultimate, combining the robustness of denim with the roominess of joggers (plus the ability to bend over and squat down – crucial with kids).
Look no further than original Levi’s 501s: regular jeans for regular guys.
Chunky Trainers
The chunky trainer is definitely the footwear big deal of the season and epitomises ‘dad style’ for its ugliness, and how it’s worn with everything. You could go with something like a New Balance 990.
Technical Jacket
An oversized tech jacket (anorak in basic terms) is also key as it adds an element of ‘trainspotter’ to the anti-fashion look. Wear it over everything from tailoring to sportswear, just like your dad’s favourite jacket.
The North Face is a great DILF piece.
Half-Zip Fleece
It’s a toss-up between this and the mock turtleneck. But few pieces or fabrics are as DILF-friendly as a half-zip fleece. Because of that, it has languished unloved on the racks at hiking stores, which is a shame: it’s warm but not bulky, making it ideal for layering under your technical jacket and doubling as outerwear (albeit not waterproof) for those awkward in-between days. This is one time when getting fleeced is a good thing.
There are certain places where we always want to look our best: a first date, a job interview and now – the airport. Social media shopping site LTK has just reported a 400% increase in searches for airport outfits. Handy, because many of us are heading to airports at this time of year.
While comfort is usually first and foremost on our minds when considering in-flight fashion, with tracksuits, leggings and extra soft socks (sometimes accompanied by Crocs or slides) making regular appearances, the rise in loungewear and “snuggly sets” means we no longer have to choose between fashionable and functional. Just take a look at brands such as Adanola, Chelsea Peers or Skims.
For short-haul flights, what you wear perhaps requires less thought from a comfort perspective, although the onboard temperature can get quite cold and one should take that into consideration. However, long-haul flights are where comfort really is key, and fashion fans are now sharing their chic and cosy looks on social media, some of which I’ve shared below. So, if you’re looking for travel outfit inspiration, here goes…
The tonal two-piece
The tracksuit is a go-to for all kinds of travelling. As with any co-ord, it will have you looking effortlessly put together with minimal pause for thought. Plus, they’re soft, snuggly and can be worn with a vest top underneath to keep you warm or cool depending on the aircon situation.
Blazers are one of the easiest ways to smarten up an outfit. If you’re travelling for work or just want to feel a little fancy while up in the air, add one to your trusty travel outfit of leggings, trainers and a plain T-shirt.
While shorts may not be the first thing that spring to mind when assembling an airport outfit (leather seats, such as on British Airways, and bare legs aren’t a pleasant combo), longline options will help you sport a warm weather look without your skin touching yours seat.
Sportswear and gym kits are designed to be comfortable, making them a great option for travel. Plus, the bright and bold colours are an easy way to step into the holiday mood, even if it’s pouring down with rain on the runway.
Yes, linen is prone to creasing, but that adds to its laid-back charm. Plus, the lightweight breathable fabric is one of the best solutions to keep you cool when stepping off the plane in particularly hot locations. Matching tops and shirts, especially in a neutral shade, will have you out the door in minutes and pair perfectly with sandals and trainers.
Welcome to Amanda Zips It Up and it’s (almost) August already!
So much happening over the past few days, including the Euros Finals and the Oasis reunion – which we will be discussing in this issue.
Plus, I’ve been on my travels, with the plenty of reading time, and came across an interesting piece in The Times, especially for any new mums looking for a side hustle and an extra bit of pocket money.
Many women in the US and UK are selling their breast milk at a premium, after witnessing demand for it in the market. And they are raking in the dosh, up to a £1000 a month, depending on how much they can pump.
Yes, women are stockpiling their breast milk, selling it online, and cashing-in. And this milk business is no small joke —these ‘mammas’ are selling their naturally available milk to other women and in some cases even to bodybuilders, who believe that breast milk is the best to pump up those pecs
Personally, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere near my children the with breast milk of another woman. However, they do say that “Breast Is Best” – would you go there?
In addition to breast milk being incredibly good for babies, have a guess what the new super food is, taking over the world? It’s all right here in this week’s instalment. Read on…

Welcome to your Mid-Week Fashion Fix, from Amanda Zips It Up.
So, it’s full-on summer wherever you may be right now.
It was my birthday last weekend, and we had dinner with friends in Port Adriano Mallorca. Whilst I sipped on my usual rioja, everyone else was asking for an ‘OOGO’. Well, that’s what it sounded like anyway.
It looked like a very colourful cocktail, but what the hell is an ‘OOGO”?
Move over Aperol, there’s a new Spritz in town – and it’s ideal for this balmy summer weather. Introducing ‘THE HUGO’. Yep, my friends were just ordering in a Spanish accent.
OUT with Aeperol..
The Hugo Spritz is an aperitivo (that’s Italian for pre-dinner drink) created by an Italian bartender. Roland Gruber, the mixologist in question, was looking for an alternative to the ubiquitous Aperol cocktail which, despite its popularity, isn’t to everyone’s taste. Especially mine.
Containing elderflower syrup, cava/prosecco and mint leaves as the main ingredients, the Hugo Spritz is sweet and light whilst being an equally-delicious and refreshing thirst-quencher.
And it’s making the rounds on TikTok too, with more than 285 million views for related videos. In fact, the Hugo Spritz has seen the biggest search growth out of all cocktails analysed over the past year, with searches for the recipe skyrocketing by 281% during that time.
With all this hype, the Hugo Spritz is set to be the new hot summer drink. And it’s super easy to make.
How to make the Hugo Spritz
St Germain Elderflower Liqueur, 60 ml
Prosecco or sparkling wine, 90 ml
Soda water, 30 ml
Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Lemon or lime wedge (optional)
All you need to do is fill a glass with ice cubes, then create heaven.
Onto this week’s instalment, and we start with hangover supplements to deal with all those Hugos you’ll be drinking this summer, plus we exploure the ultimate ‘cooling’ trousers, and Nike launch the ‘Dirty Air-Force 1’s’. Enjoy

Jumping Jack Frost
Definitely on my shopping list.
In other news, having flicked through the Sunday red tops (newspapers), one story caught my eye to share with you.
According to a survey by dating website “illicetencounters.com” – Men with goatie beards are Britain’s biggest love rats. 2,000 women were asked whether a cheating partner had facial hair and if so, what kind? Nearly 1 in 5 women said their Ex had a tidily trimmed tiny beard.
18% of men who had been unfaithful sported a goatee. Another 17% of women said their cheating partner had a ‘Designer Stubble and 15% said they had a moustache.
KanyeWill SmithIce CubeCommon
There has always been something not quite right about a man with a finely manicured goatee. He is trying too hard. Watch out girls!
However, men with a full beard are less likely to do the dirty with just 9% of women affected.
