All eyes were on the musical superstars on Sunday evening, as the MTV VMAs got underway in New Jersey. As ever, wardrobe choice was key, and the biggest names in the industry didn’t disappoint
The 39th annual ceremony was held at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, with many stars making their own unique statement on the red carpet. As well as the outfits, the performances were just as eye-catching, with the likes of Drake, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles taking the stage.
Making her presence felt straight away on entrance was LIZZO, who stunned in an enormously puffy dark blue dress. The singer, 34, showcased her voluminous outfit as she made sure all eyes were on her, in this Jean Paul Gaultier billowing gown. Her makeup didn’t disappoint either, as she donned black lipstick along with a centrally placed lip ring and huge hooped earrings. She wore her hair slicked down her back.
Taylor Swift looked superstar-like in a sparkly short mesh-like dress paired with bold red lipstick. Perhaps one of her most fashion-forward looks to date, the musician, singer and songwriter stepped out in a shimmering mini dress look by Oscar de la Renta that was made up of lots of different strings of jewels.
LL Cool J went for a leather look, pairing it with his signature shades and black beanie. Not one to be upstaged, he oozed style in eye-catching bling, including a chunky chain around his neck and a diamond ring covering three fingers which read ‘Cool J’.
Snoop Dogg was his usual stylish self, wearing an olive-green leather tracksuit which consisted of a long-sleeve crewneck with a round neckline and wide waistband. The rapper complemented the top with matching pants with front pleats and a baggy hem.
To take his general vibe up a notch, the music icon accessorized with a gold Cuban link chain and square transparent shades. Snoop Dogg tied his outfit together with camouflage Converse sneakers.
