Red Carpet Fashion 2021

Jada Pinkett Smith was easily the best-dressed in a spectacular Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown.

The gown was created by Belgian designer Glenn Martens, who made his haute couture debut as a guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring/summer 2022 collection in January.

The gown features an enormous ruffled skirt that cascades out into a show-stopping train, with a ruched zip-up bodice and a high neck, all in a deep emerald green. She finished the look with matching green Jimmy Choo platform sandals and G by Glenn Spiro earrings in titanium and diamonds.

She then went all ‘grecian glamour’ for the Vanity Fair afterparty in a stunning sparkly gown. Her fitted gold sequin strapless dress featured a nude cape over her shoulders that tied at her neck and flowed effortlessly on the red carpet. She added earrings to her look as well as a few chunky rings.

Worst dressed has to go to Billie Eilish who actually won ‘Best Song’ for her Bond theme tune “No Time To Die”. After ditching her blonde bob for a sharper black cut, Billie Eilish landed on the 2022 Oscars red carpet with her signature magnetism. Wearing a black off-the-shoulder custom gown by Gucci, the singer took a few moments to pose for the cameras before entering the Dolby Theatre to perform a rendition of her song “No Time To Die,” from the James Bond film of the same name. But the dress completely drowned her, even hiding arms – making her look like a blob.

Chris Rock and Will Smith were sharply dressed.

Rock arrived onstage in a blue velvet tuxedo jacket and coordinating trousers by Tom Ford. Paired with a white shirt, black bow tie and glossy black brogues, the comedian’s look was both dapper and fitting within the classic evening dress codes.

Will Smith was also sharply dressed in a black Dolce and Gabbana  3-piece suit, complete with a matching tuxedo jacket and vest, over a white shirt. Completing his ensemble were sparkling tie jewels by Cartier.

Venus Williams had a nip slip in the midst of Sunday’s chaotic 2022 Oscars show.

The tennis star, who wore a custom white, plunging Elie Saab gown, suffered the wardrobe malfunction while sitting in her seat alongside her sister Serena Williams. Cameras caught the fashion mishap and fans on Twitter shared screen grabs that showed her covering her chest with her right arm.

Serena Williams wore Gucci.

The sisters represented the film ‘King Richard.’ – for which Will Smith won Best Actor.

The tennis star wore a Gucci dress which – thanks to the embellished embroidery – it has to be the worst dress of the evening, Her stylist could’ve chosen something so much more flattering.

But the worst look of the evening goes to Maggie Gyllenhaal wearing Schiaparelli – which she claims was ‘a work of art’. To me, it screams ‘Hammer Head Shark’.

Kristen Stewart won the night for me. This Chanel shorts suit is heaven for risk takers. The Red Carpet’s punk princess, got her crowning moment as ‘The Best Actress’ nominee wore a custom Chanel black satin shorts suit that gave two manicured fingers to every traditional tulle dress at Hollywood’s big night.

Stewart paired her bespoke Chanel blouse, shorts and blazer with Chanel jewellery which ticked all my boxes. Simple make-up and messy hair, it would be exactly what I would wear if I had the invite.
