Beyoncé (AKA Queen Bey) dropped her new album ‘Renaissance’ this week and the accompanying artwork and photos are stunning.
Mrs Carter wore nothing more than a structured metallic bikini covering as she rode atop a glowing holographic horse for the cover of her seventh album.
Putting her own twist on summer’s biggest style trend (the embellished bikini), Beyoncé wore this sculptural Nusi Quero offering, embellished with chrome spikes and hundreds of glittering crystals.
The barely there bikini curved in a helix pattern from the base of Beyoncé’s neck and circled around her hips. A pair of chrome nipple pasties adorned the top half of the one-piece suit, while the rest of her chest was trimmed with delicate strings of crystal that glistened as bright as her gleaming riding saddle. She paired the look with liquid silver heels, a caramel manicure, matching eyeshadow, a bright-pink lip, and honey-brown waves that cascaded past her waist.
Also at the centre of the futuristic cover art, which is set against a black background, is the holographic horse that, like a disco ball, appears to be covered in thousands of miniature mirror tiles. From this sensual Nusi Quero one-piece to her classic Roberto Cavalli dress in the “Lemonade” video, Beyoncé has proven her mastery of breath-taking visual covers once again.
In more of the album artwork we see stunning images of her in a series of flaming-hot outfits.
In one shot, Bey channels Madonna in a black-and-gold spandex bodysuit with a built-in cone bra, which she styled with sheer black polka-dot tights and oversized gold-and-diamond drop earrings.
In another, she wears an oversized cherry-red puffer jacket while sitting on a desk with an “On Air” sign—seemingly representing a media moment—and clasping her gold-manicured hands together.
A third image of Queen B is more casual but no less glamorous—it shows the singer lounging back in what looks to be an old-school bar booth, sipping a brown spirit, while wearing a skin-tight long-sleeved black dress with a plunging metallic bodice and spikes that raise over her shoulders. Her hair is styled into a messy beehive updo.
The looks certainly don’t end there. In one bizarre shot, Beyoncé is portrayed as part of a work of art in front of what seems to be a rundown chapel with Venetian-inspired stained-glass windows. Bey sits in the forefront of the picture in an oversized red turtleneck dress with squared shoulders embellished with multi-coloured stones—her hair up in a superglued, diagonal Leaning Tower of Pisa-style updo.
In one of the classier close-ups, Beyoncé smokes a bedazzled cigarette, looking luxurious in a forest green tulle fascinator with a black sheer veil in the front, and donning a deep red lip.
In yet another image, she gives a nod to stylish villain Cruella de Vil, wearing a furry, abstract zebra-print bodysuit with leather opera gloves in the same pattern, matching sunglasses, sheer black tights, and black-and-white feather earrings.
And… (pause for breath) the singer also posed in a sexy cowgirl ensemble consisting of a plunging black bodysuit with feathers on the long sleeves, black pointed-toe pumps, and an oversized cowboy hat turned up at the sides and into a high curve.
What a shoot that must’ve been. The wardrobe must’ve arrived on a 747 and the hair and make-up team probably all arrived and left on a second 747 as well.
